Growing together, Summer after Summer: Kai and Montestigliano
In over thirty years of welcoming guests, we’ve met so many people, and every encounter has left its mark. There’s something profoundly special about seeing faces return, year after year, as if this home has become a little bit theirs too.
Perhaps this is the very heart of our agriturismo’s story: we are not just immersed in the beauty of Tuscany, we are a family that opens the doors of its world to welcome those who arrive with curiosity and then – often – return with affection.
If there’s one story that truly tells what it means to grow together with Montestigliano, it’s Kai’s.
He first arrived here as a child with his family, seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of London. He was so captivated by the beauty and serenity of Montestigliano that, year after year, he kept coming back, transforming our hamlet into a place close to his heart.
During his last visit, Kai brought us something extraordinary as a gift: a part of the project he was working on. It’s a line of custom laser-engraved wooden chopping boards and coasters, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail. He told us that the idea for this project came to him right here, inspired by Montestigliano’s unique atmosphere.
From July 2025, a set of unique chopping boards and coasters – each engraved with the name of the villas – will be available in every house at Montestigliano, for you to use and enjoy during your stay. Whether you use it for the aperitivo, for breakfast, lunch or dinner, we hope it becomes part of your time here — something that adds to the rhythm of your stay.
Your Tuscan aperitivo, elevated
These chopping boards – and the matching coasters – were designed to best enhance one of Italy’s most beloved rituals: the aperitivo. Prepare your crispy bruschetta with our Montestigliano extra virgin olive oil, with its intense and fruity flavour and pair them with a glass of our excellent Montestigliano wine.
Imagine being back home, gathering with friends or loved ones, sharing platters of authentic local delicacies or with a glass of wine all elegantly presented on these Montestigliano designed chopping boards and coasters. Suddenly, a piece of Montestigliano is right there with you, an invitation to relive and share with those you love the beautiful emotions of your Tuscan getaway.
The Montestigliano Collection (June 2025) features personalised wooden coasters and chopping boards, beautifully engraved with the names of each of our 12 villas – from Casa Damiano to Villa Pipistrelli.
